The Broken Girls: A Book Review

Written by Simone St. James, this novel follows Fiona, a woman whose sister was murdered 20 years before (set in 2014). With how this has haunted her life, Fiona is led into a much older mystery of who killed a 15 year old girl 60 years before.

The broken girls is a well written mystery novel with a supernatural element. The twist was surprising, and the characters were well flushed out. I am still jealous of Fiona for her boyfriend.

Fiona herself did get on my nerves quite a bit, but that could have something to do with the fact I have never gone through an experience like losing your sister to a killer. This book does make you take a look at PTSD and all of the ways that it can affect people.

This novel DOES have multiple view points and bounces back and forth between different times. It didn’t bother me at all and I rather enjoyed the flow that it created. Within this story, there wasn’t one time period that I wanted to be in more. The stories wove with each other well.

Recommend this for any ghost fans, mystery fans, murder fans, and just people who are looking for a good story.
