I am in an argument with someone trying to show how they NEVER admit they are wrong. For this, I need to find some story with the following plot:
Loved one is dead. Main character (or someone one else) tries to find a way to bring them back. Finds a way. Doesn’t bring them back because they think they had a good life. Turns out they had a horrible/sad life.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO FIND. Part of it is the whole “time travel” bit. Part of it is Google not working for me today. AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY AND KEEPING ME FROM DOING MY ACTUAL WORK I GET PAID FOR GAHHHH.
I’m sure there is a vampire novel somewhere that has this idea. Or some other time-travel novel. Or a ghost novel. Something.
