Something About Harry: A Book Review

Something About Harry is the second novel in the Accidental Werewolf Series, and and the 8th book in the Accidental Series by Dakota Cassidy. This novel follows Mara, the sister in law to the first Accidental Werewolf, Marty. Mara can’t seem to find a guy and just wants a baby, but when the wrong person, Mr. Hot Harry from Accounting, is in her lab and goes furry, she has to deal with the consequences. Though, those may not be all bad.

*THIS NOVEL IS NOT FOR CHILDREN, I REPEAT, THIS NOVEL IS NOT FOR CHILDREN*

Now that is out of the way, I really enjoyed this novel. A fun story with some serious things going on – I’m talking kidnapping folks – this novel hits all of the right spots with me.

Mara and Harry are both super nerds, and their characters foiled with the OOPS gang and Carl, the zombie, were just so sweet. This is a very FAST paced novel, and as such somethings, as always, feel a bit… forced? Off? But, this novel was still really good and I enjoyed Harry and Mara a ton. I think that, when it comes to the leading lady, this novel works out much better than The Accidental Werewolf, mostly because Mara isn’t annoying. She knows, for the most part, who she is, she just isn’t good with men. She isn’t annoying and super over the top girly, she is a nerd. And somewhat relate-able.

Nina is a lot of fun as well, so much sass and just so entertaining! But, that doesn’t change the fact that her character, and really all of the characters other than Mara, Harry, and Astrid, come off as super forced.

But still, an enjoying paranormal romance read that was fun and (mostly) light.
