You Deserve Each Other: A Book Review

Written by Sarah Hogle, You Deserve Each Other follows Naomi Westfield, your self-proclaimed basic American girld, who doesn’t really like the man she is engaged to. However, whoever breaks the engagement first has to pay for the wedding they won’t be having. So, the two end up making a go at this whole, being honest with each other thing.

Let me start with this: from the get go I didn’t like Naomi, and I barely liked her fiance Nicholas. This book didn’t actually get good, for me, until almost half way through when the two started to actually talk to one another. And Nicholas put in A LOT of effort for that.

Once they started to stand up for one another and listening, being honest, and just showing what their real interests are, this novel finally got good.

So, if you don’t want to read about to people who did a bad job of communicating with one another and have to learn how to do that to fall in love again, really don’t read this book. If you enjoy contemporary novels that have some love in them, then give this a shot.
