I really don’t like the writing in this book. What do I mean by that? I mean that the main character, Abby, makes no sense as a real person. It makes adult women sound like poor responding children. When I’m made at someone, particularly someone I’ve only met twice, I don’t let them just walk into my house and help themselves to my food without getting upset.
In fact, I have had people who did that, and I know how I responded. Cool and stand off and got them out of my house as soon as possible. Yeah, those people late became good friends of mine, but that level of trust is a thing to be earned.
Not to mention, getting jealous over a guy that you barely know who is only trying to keep you safe. And she acts so… irrationally, given the information that she already knows.
I…. don’t know if I will be giving the second novel a shot. I found this murder mystery series listed in …. some list of series to read.
