A Twist in Time: A Book Review

Written by Kelley Armstrong, this novel follows Bronwyn, a historian from Canada who inherited a house, and property, from her aunt. This house is particularly special as, through her childhood, when she would visit she was able to go back in time and develop a friendship that turned into first love with a Victorian man William. But, after a devastating incident when she was 15, it has been 23 years since she was back.

*WARNING, THIS IS FOR ADULTS*

To start with, I really enjoyed this novel. It had some of my favorite things in romance. Ghosts, time travel, murder, mystery. Such wonderful things. And the writing was classic Armstrong in that it was easy to read and swept me into the story.

The characters, the main characters, were wonderful. I just couldn’t wait for Bronwyn and William to have another interaction. I enjoyed them soo much! The secondary characters, other than August, did feel a bit more flat, but they weren’t always present in the story.

I will admit, I wanted one more chapter set a few more months/years after the current ending. I want to know how things work out in the long run.

If you enjoy historical romance, ghosts, mystery, and time travel, I’d give this a shot. If you love a lot of action and adventure, you might not enjoy this novel very much.

I did receive a copy in exchange for an honest review.
