The Thursday Murder Club: A Book Review

Written by Richard Osman, this novel follows a group of retirement home living folks who enjoy solving cold-case murders in their free time. Well, once a week during their free time. Until, one day, one of the men who work at their location winds up dead.

This is a more accessible cozy mystery, in that this isn’t aimed at women. And is very interesting, though there are SO many characters. To the point that, for a podcast I helped out with, there was a whole document created to keep the characters straight while the podcast was going on.

So. Many. Characters.

If you enjoy complex murder mysteries that honestly keep you guessing the entire time through the book, this is a good choice.

If you are wanting romance or modern-day adventure, this probably isn’t the book for you. This is about a group of seniors who have amazing backgrounds who are showing that, yeah, they still have a brain and still can use it very well.

The other thing with this book is it forced me to take a look at how I treat the elderly as well as just how I treat my family members.

I recommend this book. It was a good read. And, if you feel like checking out the podcast on this topic, click on this link HERE, and let me know what you think.
