The Language of Thorns: A Book Review

This is a collection of short stories written by Leigh Bardugo, and I think this might be the best introduction to their writing.

These stories are all fairy tales, or at least in that style, and I think they all are based on different cultures which I find rather fun.

Short stories are not everyone’s cup of tea, but I think they can be a great introduction to an author’s writing without getting sucked into a series. In particular, I loved the first story Ayama and the Thorn Wood, and starting out strong works fantastically for a short story collection.

I think this is a great, not to mention a beautiful, book to read. One hint, as I am going to refuse to discuss any spoilers on this post for this particular book, is to keep an eye on the page decorations in each story.

Just a recommendation.

If you enjoy fairytale retellings, I think this will be a collection of short stories that you will also enjoy.
