The Archer: A Book Review

Written by Ruby Rodrigo, this is a spicy, spicy adults only book that delivers exactly what it says it will, and honestly does it in a really nice way.

We have Ero, the leader of the Almanian group that Aslin, a woman disguised as a man, is trying to do recon on. The story opens up with Aslin already taken hostage, and Ero is coming into the chamber to administer what is likely to be torture on the soldier who shot out his floodlights.

Little does he know that this soldier is a woman.

I really, really did enjoy this book. It was a fun, quick read, and I loved both of the characters. I particularly enjoyed the annoying misinterpretations of cultural things.

If you are reading this on Goodreads, yes, I did give this book 5 stars. It is listed under Erotica and was originally published on a certain site for free. This book is not only exactly as is described (I found this scrolling through Tiktok), but is actually very well written and moves at a nice pace through their relationship. The only thing not done well is the passage of time outside the little bubble of their room. But, that’s not why you would read this/are considering reading this.

This is an adult romance that gives us two interesting characters with a dash of excitement.

There is no fantasy element to this story, and it has a historical ‘feel’ to it, but it is exactly what it seems. An adult romance.
