The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson: A Book Review

Written by Andrew Davidson, this isn’t a new book but it is a book a friend gave me and I just adored this book.

In this novel, we follow a no-name main character, who is a man who was in a severe car crash that resulted in burns all over his body, and an adult video star who is now missing his stick. During his recovery an interesting, very likely crazy (though our unnamed MC is still figuring that out) woman befriends him, gives him a reason to live again, and claims they have met before.

This book does have some very adult themes (see above) but honestly doesn’t get a big warning for that – this isn’t a spicy book. This is a book with big themes, a level of religion that is wider than a typical religious-themed book would have.

Overall, this is just a good, deep book that reflects on life and love, both self and toward others. If you are looking for a light-hearted novel, this isn’t it. But if you are reading for something you’ll likely need to read in chunks, a little bit at a time, but enjoy like a fine wine, give this one a shot.

Also, apologies for the long wait. At some point I’ll figure out how to send out emails for updates, but needless to say, it has been a very, very tough year. Crawling out now, and if you do receive this as an email, I’m sorry for the amount of emails you are likely to get over the next couple of weeks.
