Written by Claire M Andrews, Daughter of Sparta follows a girl who, along side her brothers, are orphans from another land that ended up being adopted by Spartans and raised with them (very unusual, according to the book). When her brother fails to turn up and honor their family by running for the deer to welcome in a much needed good harvest Daphne steps up and takes his place.
Little does she know the plans the gods have for her.
This book falls into the catagory of ‘I would have loved this book as a teenager but now this really barely holds my attention.’ If you are a teen/young adult I think you might find this fight for and against the gods more interesting, I just… wasn’t really invested and couldn’t understand the MC.
