No, not the animal kind of hunting.
Yesterday, I spent the majority of the day with one of my best friends sitting in the sun and swimming, chatting about life and movies and random things. This is the reason for the lack of material yesterday.
Today, I have been hunting and typing up submissions for my novel. I have been working on this novel for 6 years now, and I am always worried that it won’t be good enough.
The things I have learned today:
- You need to read over every agent’s detail that you are considering submitting to because they are all interested in slightly different things.
- Change your query letter! Seriously, make sure it is crafted for every agent. It can have some of the same elements, but needs to have some specialized things just for them.
- Keep looking. There are a lot more agents out there than you think.
- Keep writing.
- If you are submitting for a series, don’t mention that. Your first book needs to be able to sell its self and anything that comes after it.
