I recently watched the new Mummy movie staring Tom Cruise, and I really need to get something off of my chest.
I don’t think it is fair to compare this movie to the original 3, or even to the Scorpion King.
I know, I know, “It has the name!”, but I don’t think this movie takes place in the same timeline. Maybe I am wrong and I need to go watch the original few again. But SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS I don’t remember that secret society that LITERALLY caught the mummy. I mean, how does that make any sense? I did enjoy the new movie, and honestly like most of the movies. (If you can’t figure out which one I don’t like, well, maybe take a look at Rotten Tomatoes.)
The special effects were wonderful, but I wish we would have gotten more MUMMY stuff. Like, give me a little more build up. Tom Cruise I actually enjoyed. I liked all of the actors they had here. Russell Crowe, your character surprised me and was a delight.
But the original movies just have more a classic Hollywood film feel, which I have always loved.
