The Queen of Nothing: A Book Review

Written by Holly Black, The Queen of Nothing is the third novel of The Folk of the Air series (which it looks like I still need to post the second novel’s review, oops) and follows Jude in what I think is the last of the series. She has been exiled to the human world, but has been asked to sneak back into Farie to save her twin sister from being killed, as she killed her husband.

Holly Black is one of my favorite authors, and truly weaves a tale for her readers. The writing is superb, and her characters are very complex. None of these characters are traditionally good, but some try their best. This is not a novel for the faint of heart, but there isn’t anything particularly horribly that needs a warning for YA, in my opinion.

Carden is the king now, and doesn’t have Jude pulling his strings any longer. But Jude has real feelings for her, and could it be that he has feelings for her as well?

This is a novel that has both the characters and the plot driving it. Hands down, if you have read the first two novels, this one is a must. If you haven’t read this series, I highly, highly, recommend it for fans of fantasy, adventure, dark novels, and folks who want their novels to have some complicated love interests are really are bad boys.
