The Sea Glass Cottage: A Book Review

Written by RaeAnne Thayne, The Sea Glass Cottage follows Olivia Harper as, after dealing with a tramatic experience, she goes home to take care of the family business and help her mother who broke a hip falling from a ladder.

Olivia is a very strong character, and this is a novel that is very much real life. There isn’t fantasy in this novel, but there is a lot of heart. I appreciated that, while there were some love interests, this novel really focused on the women and their relationships. And the fact that PTSD is more than just those people who had something happened to them, but also the people who did nothing. That it can effect more people than you realize.

The writing is so wonderful in this novel. Every character has depth, and the plots and subplots are written so well that it propels you through the story. This is a book I picked up and almost didn’t put down until the end.

If you are looking for a wonderful, realistic read, that isn’t always happy but looks at the world from a realistic standpoint, this is a great novel for you to read. Strong characters, a touch of romance for those who enjoy that, and some mystery make this novel a fantastic read. And, honestly, I don’t want to give anything away about this story.

If you are looking for adventure and magic, though, this isn’t the novel for you. It just isn’t.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
