Written by Ann Aguirre, Grimspace (Sirantha Jax #1) follows Sirantha Jax, a Jumper who can see the way when traveling in hyperspace. But, her last mission left her the only survivor and her company has her in isolation. When a strange man walks into her quarters she has a choice to stay and go crazy or try to escape.
I really, really enjoyed this novel. Space pirates, some magic-adjacent science, and a lot of fighting, action, adventure, and some romance. Sweet romance.
The writing was paced a bit fast (things just flew by), but the characters were wonderful and the writing made up for the fast pacing.
If you enjoy Patricia Briggs or Anne Bishop, this might be a good science fiction novel for you to try out.
