The Sun Down Motel: A Book Review

Written by Simone St. James (Author of The Broken Girls) The Sun Down Motel follows two women, aunt and niece, separated by years and one missing for over 30 years. Viv, in 1982, is working as the night clerk at the Sundown Motel, and something just isn’t right here. There have been girls dying over the last few years in the area. Then you have Carly, her niece who has come to Fell, NY to find out what happened to her aunt when she disappeared so long ago.

This is a very, very dark novel. And what happens to the girls who die is terrible. Just need to get that warning out of the way first.

The Sun Down Motel is a fantastic novel that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good mystery thriller. So well written, and the story just moves so well. It gives you the right amount of information to just keep moving through it. And the support characters are also fantastic. The three ladies of the 80s, and then the two friends who are helping Carly in the present day – the man who can only sleep in Fell and the girl who is obsessed with everything dark that has happened in the town.

There are also ghosts, or spirits, involved in this story. A bit of an FYI if you don’t like things like that.

Overall, 100% recommend this novel to everyone.
